Newport senior Kelsey Moore has signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball at Western Washington University in the fall.
Moore was the team captain as a senior at Newport, despite being hampered the entire season by a severe ankle sprain. She was second-team All-KingCo 4A as a junior and the team MVP.
“Kelsey is a great addition to our volleyball team both on the court and in the classroom,” said Vikings coach Diane Flick. “She will provide some great depth to our outside hitter position as she has good ball control, a quick first step and, at 6-foot-1, adds height to the net.”
Flick also said a redshirt year for Moore would be “great for her development”.
