Mini-playoff details

October 21st, 2009 at Wed, 21st, 2009 at 10:37 am by Joel Willits

I just heard back from Inglemoor head coach Frank Naish, the KingCo 4A athletic director in charge of football, in regards to the details of the potential mini-playoff that could take place between Newport, Eastlake and Redmond for the Crest Division’s final playoff spot.

If, and only if, Newport and Redmond both lose this Friday, and Eastlake wins, all three teams will be tied for the third and final playoff spot in the division and a three-way playoff will be played Tuesday, Oct. 27.

The format is as such:

A coin flip will determine which two teams play first. Those two teams play two quarters. The winner of that game faces the team that sat out in another two quarter game. The winner of that game moves on to face the #2 team from the Crown Division.
Which, wouldn’t you know it, is Inglemoor.

If the mini-playoff happens, it will take place at Lake Washington High School at 7 p.m. next Tuesday.

This Friday’s games:

Newport vs. Issaquah

Eastlake vs. Garfield

Redmond vs. Skyline
