We are living in a time where those in both government and business are corrupt, looking out for their individual interests rather than the interests of others. In fact all of our social, political, and economic problems are moral failures. Until the majority have a change of heart, which would require some soul-searching, this country will never recover. The first thing we need to do as individuals is accept personal responsibility. The government cannot solve the problems we, ourselves, cause nor can it make the best decisions for individuals because that is not its purpose. (Government exists to protect our liberty and rights.) The economic and financial crisis we are experiencing is a moral failure more than anything.
